One address, read by the person who built the app: ckjergu@gmail.com. Below are the answers to the things people write in about most, so you can skip the wait where possible.

Getting in touch

Email ckjergu@gmail.com. We aim to reply within two working days, and always within 30 days for a formal request about your data.

To help us answer quickly, write from the email address you signed in with, and say what you were doing and what happened. Please do not send screenshots of your inbox — we do not need them, and we would rather not have them.

Cancelling your subscription

Your subscription is billed by Apple, so it is cancelled through Apple — we have no way to do it for you.

  1. On your iPhone, open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap TrialCut, then Cancel Subscription.

Or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions in a browser. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, or that renewal will still be charged. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours — we never receive your payment details. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Disconnecting your inbox

In the app: Settings → Disconnect inbox. It takes effect immediately and:

  • revokes our access at Google, so we cannot read or send anything;
  • deletes the stored access token;
  • erases every email excerpt we hold for you — the confirmation text stored as proof of your cancellations.

Your trial history stays, so the record of what you cancelled survives even though the quoted wording does not. You can also revoke access from Google's side at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which has the same effect on our access.

Deleting your account

How this works today

Account deletion is by request rather than a button in the app. Email ckjergu@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, with "delete my account" in the subject. We will do it and confirm, within 30 days and usually far sooner. An in-app control is being built and this page will be updated when it ships.

What gets deleted: your account record, your email address, your trials, your scan history, every cancellation you sent and its text, your proof receipts and their excerpts, your stored Google access token, your sign-in sessions, and your device push tokens. Permanently — a proof receipt you may need later should be saved before you ask.

Three things deletion does not do. It does not cancel your subscription — do that through Apple first, or it will keep renewing with no account attached. It does not remove records Apple holds about your payments, which are governed by Apple's own policy. And it does not recall emails already sent from your Gmail account; those are in your own sent folder and in the recipient's inbox, and neither of us can reach them.

Getting a copy of your data

Ask at ckjergu@gmail.com from your registered address and we will send a machine-readable export of everything we hold about you, within 30 days, free of charge. The same address handles corrections, restriction of processing, and objections. Your full rights are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Common questions

The scan found nothing. Is it broken?

Usually not. "Nothing found" is a real and common answer — it means no live trials were detected in the window we search, and marketing mail about free trials does not count as one. If you know of a specific trial it missed, tell us the merchant and roughly when you signed up; that is genuinely useful to us.

It says a cancellation was sent but not confirmed. What now?

That is the app being honest rather than stuck. We only mark something cancelled when the merchant's confirmation actually arrives, so "sent, awaiting confirmation" means exactly that. Many merchants confirm within a day. If the date is close and nothing has arrived, cancel through the merchant's own account settings as well — belt and braces beats a missed charge.

Why does it want to read my whole email, not just subject lines?

Because the dates and amounts are in the bodies. A subject line saying "Welcome to Acme" does not tell anyone when the charge lands. We read bodies during a scan and store none of them; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is read and what is kept.

Why did it ask for a second Google permission when I tried to cancel?

Because sending mail is a separate permission from reading it, and we deliberately do not ask for it during sign-up. You only grant it at the moment you first want to send a cancellation. Declining it leaves everything else working.

I am not getting alerts.

Two things must both be true when an alert comes due: an active subscription, and notifications turned on in the app. Notifications are off by default. Also check that iOS notifications are allowed for TrialCut in your device Settings.

Reporting a security issue

Write to ckjergu@gmail.com with "security" in the subject, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing publicly. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and does not access, modify or exfiltrate other people's data while finding it.

Google API disclosure

TrialCut's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
